Eva Erika LABUTYTĖ was born on April, 15, 1938, in Begėdžių village, Šilutė region, the Klaipėda area. She studied in Plikiai and Klaipėda. Ms. Labutytė worked in the children's home in Saugai and in 1967 graduated from Vilnius State Institute of Arts (now the Academy of Arts) getting the specialization of the graphic artist (the supervisor of her thesis prof. Antanas Kučas).

Since 1968 Ms. Labutytė has been participating in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad. Ms. Labutytė has arranged about 10 personal exhibitions in Lithuania (Vilnius, Klaipėda, Šilutė), Germany (Mannheim, Oberursel, Lübeck– Travemünde, Buxtehude), Poland (Olsztyn). Ms. Labutytė creates prints, bookplates, book designs, water-colours.

The major theme in her works is devoted to Minor Lithuania, the native coast, the ancient Prussians... Ms. Labutytė is faithful to the historical past and present of Lithuania. She is the founder of the Lietuvininkai Society.

At present Ms. Labutytė lives and works in Vilnius.
