This exhibit is comprised of books on Lithuanian literary and linguistic history. We are grateful to Professor William Schmalstieg of The Pennsylvania State University for making these books and facsimiles available. The purpose of the Conference, and of this exhibit, is to commemorate the publication of the first Lithuanian book. We are pleased to note that Petras Anusas, the Lithuanian Consul General in New York, will add his presence to the occasion.

The public is invited to join a small gathering in the Rare Books Room of the University Libraries to view the display of these Lithuanian books at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 22.
