The anniversary celebrations with which UNESCO will be associated in 1996 – 97
(in addition to the 25 already recommended during its 146th session)

 

(xiii) Eleven-hundredth anniversary of the settlement of the Hungarians in Central Europe;

(xiv) Four-hundred-and-fiftieth anniversary of the publication of the first book in the Lithuanian language - "Common Words in the Catechism" by Martynas Mažvydas;

(xv) One-thousand-five hundredth anniversary of the birth of the Arab poet Imru'al-Qais;
(xvi) Five-hundredth anniversary of the publication in Russia of the first State Code of Laws, the Sudebnik.
