A Photographic Exhibition on the State of the Heritage of Lithuania Minor (February 28, 1997; editorial office of the newspaper "Mokslo Lietuva" ["Scientific Lithuania"] in Vilnius) "The Exhibition That UNESCO Does Not Know About" is described by Jurgis Reidys in the newspaper "Lietuvos Aidas" (March 22, 1997). These photographs capture the remains of buildings and cemeteries, the ruins of castles, estates, and churches, and places reminiscent of M. Mažvydas in the parish at Ragainė in Lithuania Minor. This unique photo collection was created by the architects Marija and Martynas Purvinas.

An Exhibition "The First Lithuanian Book: Cultural Context and Tradition" (January 8 - August 31, 1997; Vilnius University Library) The most important exhibition devoted to the jubilee of the Lithuanian book. On display are the Catechism of M. Mažvydas and the first texts in Lithuanian. The panorama of 16th-century cultural life in Prussia and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania is revealed as well as the tradition of Lithuanian publishing after M. Mažvydas in the 16th-18th centuries.
